Day 2: Stockholm THE ROYAL WEDDING
Today you will feel the electricity running through the streets of Stockholm!
This morning, we head to the Royal island of Djurgården, originally a hunting park and today one of Stockholm’s most popular parks. Djurgården island is a true rarity in a big city! A calm oasis just minutes from the buzz of the city with winding paths and ancient oaks. The very beautifully located Rosendal Palace can be found in the heart of Djurgården and was originally a summertime pleasure retreat due to its calm and inspiring location. It was built in the 1820’s for King Karl XIV Johan, the first Bernadotte (the family name of the current Royal Family).
It is then time to enjoy the highlight of your trip – a unique opportunity to experience a Swedish Royal Wedding of a Crown Princess! Join the crowds, the festivities, the energy and atmosphere of a city and people full of emotion and joy. Witness live the Crown Princess Victoria, Mr. Daniel Westling and the Swedish Royal Family as they make their way towards beautiful Stockholm Cathedral (Storkyrkan) in atmospheric Gamla Stan.
This evening, we celebrate ourselves by enjoying each others company and discussing the day’s events over a delicious meal.

Leaving the inner city behind, this Grand Tour of the Ecopark allows you the opportunity to see four palaces plus experience the unique scenery and culture of Royal Djurgården, Fjäderholmarna and Brunnsviken. Also included are short walks in the Royal Parks of Ulriksdal and Haga of particular relevance as this is where the Crown Princess Victoria and Daniel Westling have chosen to reside from now on. When we head home, a fabulous view of the Stockholm skyline opens up – only to be seen from the water!

Despite over 300 years lying at the bottom of the Baltic, the Vasa is extremely well preserved thanks to the Baltic’s brackish waters.
