Full Day City Including Archipelago

Description

Meet with your local guide and coach in the morning for an exciting sightseeing in Stockholm. We will show you most famous buildings and views, including a stop at Fjällgatan, where the view of Stockholm’s islands and waters is truly wonderful. You will pass famous sights including the Royal Palace located in old town, the Parliament Buildings and much more.

After approx 2 hours, the panoramic tour will end at the pier for the little boat to the nearest archipelago islands “Fjäderholmarna”. We will step ashore for a short walk and enjoy this charming island, popular among the inhabitants of Stockholm for recreation and culinary experiences.

After another 2 hrs hours we will be back in the city again, at the pier Strandvägen, where our coach will pick us up together with your local guide for a drive to one of the most amazing museums in the world Vasa Museum*.

Cross the bridge to Djurgården island, where a string of magnificent museum buildings are located. Before the royal hunting park, today, Djurgården is part of Stockholm´s national city park. Here you will find the famous Vasa Museum*, here you will have one hour to visit the museum inside.

The Vasa Museum is Scandinavia’s most visited museum. In the large ship hall stands the warship Vasa – the only remaining, intact 17th century ship in the world. The lower rig has been rebuilt, complete with masts, stays and shrouds.

Optional: Stay in the city after returning from Fjäderholmarna to spend some free time. The area Östermalm is the fashionable shopping district in Stockholm and here you also will find the old market for a bite and a drink at the bar, if you feel like it.

After approx 1,5 hour the bus from Vasa Museum will pick up the rest of the group at their meeting point, (to be decided with the guide). From here we will drive to visit the impressive building The City Hall of Stockholm. This is one of the most beautiful and well-known buildings in the world and the most exclusive ballroom in Stockholm, frequently used for e.g. the yearly Nobel Banquet. Behind the brick walls, several different activities take place.

After our museum visits a drink at the icebar*) will be refreshing. The world’s first permanent ice bar is located right in the heart of Stockholm. The interior is kept at -5°C all year round and all of the interior fittings, including the glasses, are made of pure, clear ice from the Torne River in northern Sweden. Warm clothes and gloves will be provided during your stay for approx 30-40 minutes.

Optional: Stroll around the area of Kungsgatan near the icebar. Here you will find the typical coffee bar “Vetekatten” and further up the street the outdoor market Hötorget including one of the older shopping malls PUB.

The bus will be waiting outside the icebar ready to take you back to the ship, where our beautiful sightseeing tour will end after approx 8 hrs.
