2D/1N Vertical Run With Experts
Tony Berglund set the world record for the fastest vertical run! The Swedish adventurer has raced into the record books making it down the front of a skyscraper in just over 30 seconds. On top of Best Western Mälaren Hotell & Konferens in the city of Västerås you’ll find 25 metres of pure experience! Arrive at least twenty minutes before the appointed time with a pair of gym sneakers or similar low heeled shoes. You start by filling out a health declaration and then we equip you with harness, helmet and gloves. After a short debrief, and a safety check, you step off the roof and out on the wall. Our instructors have total control of your vertical speed during the run. However, the name of the game is that you’re in charge of your own run! Back on the ground you take your big smile up to the top of the building for a second run. After two runs the event is rounded off with a diploma of courage and a t-shirt that you can’t buy – just earn!
Instructor & Equipment
Tony Berglund is a former elite soldier and underwent military training in descending in the late eighties. He has pursued his own business as an adventure photographer for eleven years and is active in areas such as parachuting, alpine climbing, rappelling, scuba diving and sea kayaking. Tony has practiced Vertical Run for over fifteen years.
All equipment is CE marked and meets UIAA’s standard requirements. The rig on the roof is mounted by a licensed forging company and approved by an authorized inspector.
Throughout the decent personnel are placed on the ground and has total control over the active rope. They can slow down and/or stop the descent. In addition, a backup system with a separate safety line is connected to the customer so that instructors on the roof have full control over the vertical velocity. Vertical Run uses the same technique as the inventors in Australia. They have since its inception in 1989 performed over 400 000 descents with a
100 % security documentation.
