Halloween in Copenhagen Tivoli (9-19 October 2009) is dominated, of course, by pumpkins, but also by traditional harvest paraphernalia. A visit to the Tivoli in is always an adventure and only a jump away from Malmö and Sweden. They never let you down when it comes to traditional holiday festivities with the genuine atmosphere.
The first Swedish Lucia Day was declared in Stockholm in 1927. Today, Lucia is celebrated at home, in daycare centers, and in schools on the morning of December 13. Lucia and her bridesmaids sing Christmas and Lucia songs in old-age homes and hospitals. Even the Nobel Prize winners at the Grand Hôtel are awakened with song on that morning. (more…)

In the middle of August the giant crayfish party in Skåne will be arranged in Helsingborg and gather hundreds of people sitting by the harbour with hats and paper bibs. In the evening of April 30th bonfires are lit all over Sweden to mark the end of winter and the beginning of spring.
