A calash was used to transport the members and equipment of Carl Linneaus expeditions as it traveled through Skåne during the summer of 1749. He had learned to travel light and knew from experience that his party of followers and assistants should not be too large.

Norrviken Park in Båstad in northwest Skåne was recently awarded as the most beautiful park in Sweden. The artist and master of the garden, Tage Andersen took over the management three years ago.

Lake Oden in northwest Skåne is said to be like the one eye of the god Odin.The lake is supposed to have no bottom and old stories tell us how a channel leads from the dephts of the lake to the crypt of Lund Cathedral. During summer season there will be romantic, musical evenings performed from a floating platform out on the lake, which is lit up by the flames of torches. (more…)
