Lerberget
About 20 minutes by car or bus north of Helsingborg, before you reach Höganäs the small fishermen settlement Lerberget is situated. Some three hundred years ago some of the Swedish soldiers got a piece of land here after winning the war between Denmark and Sweden.

Visit one of my favourite Swedish resort. We too a drive cross Skane to the south east part one day. Suddenly you are out of the wood and the view is spectacular. Far down you will have the blue Baltic Sea. White and soft sandy beaches as far as the eye can reach. (more…)

Around Skane we have lovely beaches just near the town centres. Ribersborg beach, commonly known as Ribban, in southwest of Skåne, is a huge recreational area situated within walking distance of the centre of Malmö. (more…)

At the new hotel in Torekov I found this beautiful hand made rug from the studio of Märta Måås-Fjetterström. She started her textiles workshop in 1919 in the little town of Båstad, in the southwest of Sweden. (more…)

At last summer is knocking on our doors! Suddenly we discovered the first sign; the small flowers Wood Anemones or Anemones nemorosa carpets large areas. Many says that this is the most beautiful time to visit. Within a couple of weeks the three leaves will hide the sunlight and the white carpet will disappear. (more…)

Last week I just realized that this region should be explored on a bike. Most tourist offices have day tours and short excursions in the area. I think I will create the coast to coast alternative as well! This tour will take you alongside the coastline, near sandy beaches and to the rural countryside with forests, ridges, castles and small villages. (more…)

A calash was used to transport the members and equipment of Carl Linneaus expeditions as it traveled through Skåne during the summer of 1749. He had learned to travel light and knew from experience that his party of followers and assistants should not be too large.
