Skåne Around on Inlines – A Tour For Ebba
Yesterday the father of little girl Ebba rolled out. He will travel by in-lines, 7 days and 700 kilometres alongside the south coast of Sweden, most of the way using cycling paths nearby the sea. This is a tour to honour the memory of his little girl, Ebba, who died from cancer only six years old in November last year. His journey will be both therapy and a way to raise founds for The Swedish Children’s Cancer Foundation.
Ebba was a brave little girl who fought two years against cancer in her stomach. You can read her story at the website where her father tells us about their struggle, but also about how to live a whole life when you have a time limit of a few months. Any one who wants to contribute to the Children Cancer foundation and Ebba can do it online here, and mark your donation with: Inlines for Ebba.
The itinerary for Ebbas Tour will be something like this:

Anyone who wants to travel with him (on bike perhaps..) is welcome. A lot of people did him company the first day, with a first stop in Trelleborg for an interview.
A photographer from the Children Cancer Foundation is right behind during his first 3 days on the road. “It sounds like I have a machine gun behind my back,” he comments her doing her work!
“First break in Smygehuk, the most southern point in Sweden. We had a delicious smoked salmon for lunch. “The wind is with us and we have wings under our feet! I will make 100 kilometres today and it is really very fun and nice to meet all these people supporting my mission and me. Near Ystad we enjoyed a Swedish coffee break and giant blueberry muffins with a wonderful view over the sea.
Monday August 13, I will start from Sandhammaren and my colleague and friend will go with me. He has exercised all winter by eating the local most famous dish; asparagus from Skillinge! We will see if that helps.”
End first day.
